More than 700 homes have been made more energy efficient, helping to reduce energy use and improve comfort.
In the first year of wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, we’ve completed improvements to 713 homes across Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Leicestershire.
We’ve installed measures including external wall insulation, loft insulation, new windows and doors, solar panels and low-carbon heating upgrades.
Fallon Warren, Head of Asset Optimisation, Sustainability and Commercial Facilities, said: “Among the homes we’ve worked on during the first year are some of our poorest performing properties in terms of Energy Performance Certificate ratings.
“Many of them are in bands E and F and are hard to treat, so it’s been really important to us to do this work to bring them up to an EPC C and make sure our customers are living in homes that are more energy efficient.
“This will hopefully help them save money on their bills as well as enhance their health and wellbeing within their homes.
“We’re really proud of our Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund project and are delighted with the progress we’ve made in the first year of this wave alongside our contractors, Lovell Renew.”
Across the three years of wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund project, we’re investing almost £54 million in nearly 3,000 homes to make them more energy efficient for our customers.
We were initially awarded £20.3 million, which we match-funded and planned to enhance more than 2,000 of our homes.
We were then allocated an additional £6.7 million, which we topped up to £11.6 million, to carry out the work on an additional 700 homes across the Milton Keynes area.
This wave of the project follows on from wave 2.1 of the previously named Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund project, where we improved more than 700 homes.
