Our Five Steps of Purposeful Impact

The Amplius corporate plan – Go Further and Do More – sets out our future aims, how we’ll achieve them and why we’re determined to get things right for our customers and make a positive difference.

In the plan, we’ve made the following four commitments:

  • Customers: We’ll understand our communities and our customers to better meet their needs.
  • Strategy and Plans: We’ll innovate to ensure efficiency and value for money while improving the way we work and delivering homes and services that make a difference.
  • Partnership and Influence: We’ll partner with others to provide better solutions, amplify our impact and be more influential.
  • Colleagues: We’ll strengthen our performance by attracting and developing people who are passionate about making a positive difference.

Ultimately, we want our customers to trust us to provide the homes and services they want and to rely on us to be there when they need us the most.

By being better connected to the places we’re responsible for and the customers we serve, we’ll provide quality, locally based services that are driven by data, insight, best practice and customer need.

How we’ll make an impact for our customers and communities

To ensure we deliver the four commitments of our corporate plan, we need to begin by getting the basics right.

That means we need to ensure we’re providing safe, affordable and accessible homes for our customers.

From there, we can go further and do more to improve their lives and enhance the health and happiness of the people living in our communities.

To ensure this happens, we’ve set out a list of five priority areas that we need to get right to have maximum impact.

Based on the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, which explains that people must satisfy basic needs before being able to appreciate things like social belonging and self-esteem, we’ve set out five steps of delivery.

We’re calling these our Five Steps of Purposeful Impact:

Step 1. Safe, affordable and accessible homes

The foundation of our focus is to ensure that our customers can live safely within an accessible home they can afford. Our absolute priority is to ensure that these basic needs are met.

Step 2: Comfortable homes

We’re committed to doing everything we can to ensure that people can live in comfort in a home that gives them a better opportunity to cope with the demands of life and a better chance to thrive.

Step 3: Healthy lives

Once customers are safe and comfortable in their home, they’re more likely to be able to lead a healthier lifestyle and we’ll do everything we can to support them to do this with the aim of enhancing their physical and mental wellbeing.

Step 4: Financial security

Our next priority is to ensure that we’re providing advice that enables customers to reduce any stress and anxiety they might be feeling about their finances. By helping them access the support available to them, we believe they’re more likely to have peace of mind and be more financially secure.

Step 5: Healthy and Cohesive Communities

In addition to the first four steps that focus on the people living on our homes, we’ll also work hard to create healthy and cohesive communities that enable people to thrive, enhance their wellbeing and feel a sense of belonging within their community.

These building blocks will help us realise our vision and achieve our purpose. By delivering in each of these areas, we’ll absolutely go further and do more for our customers and our communities.

From having safety and certainty, all the way to being settled and supported, people will be more able to thrive as part of a community where they feel they belong and can play an active role.

Created in partnership with our customers

Our customers played a key role in helping us develop our Five Steps of Purposeful Impact. In addition to learning from their feedback in a range of surveys and our Tenant Satisfaction Measures results, we’ve worked closely with our Customer Influence Panel on this project.

During a workshop attended by a range of Amplius colleagues, members of the Panel shared their views about the things we should focus on and prioritise and helped us shape the language we should use.
