We’ve joined forces with Allison Homes to deliver more than 80 new affordable houses near Huntingdon.
The deal will see us provide 83 affordable homes in Sawtry. The properties are part of Allison Homes’ wider 138-home Aversley Grange development off Glatton Road in the town.
Marcus Keys, Chief Development and Commercial Officer, said: “By coming to this agreement with Allison Homes, we’re helping address the need for affordable housing in this part of the country.
“We have an existing long-standing relationship with Allison Homes and have a track record of working well together to deliver the homes people want, where they’re needed most.
“These homes will become part of a lovely mixed-tenure community and will create a wonderful place for people to either take their first step into homeownership or to rent a quality, safe home at an affordable price.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Allison Homes and seeing the scheme progress.”
The affordable homes will be made up of 33 affordable rent properties, 32 will be made available for Shared Ownership and 18 homes will be for social rent.
They will be a combination of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Some of the affordable homes will be part-funded through our strategic partnership with Homes England.
Sophie Kendal, Land & Partnerships Director for Allison Homes Central said: “We have teamed up with Amplius, to deliver a total of 83 affordable homes at Aversley Grange – 53 required through the S106 and a further 30 as additional homes to boost supply locally.
“It’s a big step forward for Sawtry and a genuinely positive move for the community, helping more people find a place they can afford to call home.
“For Allison Homes, it’s another example of how working closely with trusted partners can deliver more for local people – more choice, more affordability, and more opportunities to call a place home.”
The affordable homes are due to begin being handed over to us from early 2027.
