We’ve been working with several partner organisations to improve the flood resilience of one of our sheltered housing schemes.
Harpers Court in Brigstock is located right next to Harper’s Brook and has flooded in previous years, with some residents losing personal belongings and having to move out while repairs were carried out.
We’ve now been working with RAIN Northants, a project which trials and implements innovative flood risk measures, to install several of these at Harpers Court to protect our vulnerable customers.
Some of these measures include flood windows, flood barriers and non-return valves.
Recently, representatives from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as colleagues from partner organisations, visited the scheme to see the work that’s been done.
