Large affordable housing development completed in Boston

Amplius | The Leas, Boston

We’ve completed a major affordable housing development in Boston.

The Leas – made up of 135 homes on Toot Lane in the town – has been under construction since December 2022.

The affordable homes have been completed in phases, and now the final properties have been finished and handed over to us.

The development has been part-funded through a grant from Homes England as part of our strategic partnership.

The one, two, three and four-bedroom homes have been made available for Shared Ownership, Rent to Buy and social rent.

Marcus Keys, Chief Development and Commercial Officer, said: “The Leas is a flagship scheme for our organisation and plays a big part in helping us tackle the housing crisis and provide much-needed affordable housing in Boston.

“This development has given lots of local people the opportunity to get onto the housing ladder in an affordable way through Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy, or to have a safe and quality home they can rent at an affordable price.

“The homes meet good design practice with a focus on accessibility, space standards and customer running costs.

“We’re delighted to see the final properties completed and handed over and we hope our new customers are happy with their new homes.”

D Brown Builders Limited built the development.

Adam Mayer, Managing Director, said: “When you look back through the first photos taken in October 2022 of a bare field, to see it today showcasing 135 of the area’s highest quality affordable homes is incredible.

“Credit must go to our dedicated delivery team of Darrell, Tony, Freddie, Ian and Archie. They persevered through the post-pandemic climate, embraced new challenges with the scheme being a full ground source heating solution and consistently delivered properties to the highest standards possible and all in under three-and-a-half years.

“I would also like to thank our partners at Amplius, who have made this project a joy to work on and we very much look forward to extending this lasting relationship to future upcoming schemes.”
