An affordable housing development in Northamptonshire has been completed.

The 35-home site on Gold Street in Desborough will see properties made available for Shared Ownership, Rent to Buy and social rent.

We’ve delivered the two, three and four-bedroom homes in partnership with Snowdown Homes.

The scheme has been part-funded with money from Homes England, as part of our strategic partnership.

Dave Lakin, Director of Development and Sales, said: “We’re committed to building 1,000 new homes a year to help tackle the housing crisis in this country and this development in Desborough addresses the need for affordable homes in the area.

“These homes will give local people the opportunity to get onto the housing ladder in an affordable way through Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy, or to have a safe and quality home they can rent at an affordable price.

“We’ve worked very closely with our partners at Snowdon Homes to bring these plans to fruition and I’m delighted to see the development finished.

“We’ll now look forward to welcoming our new customers to their homes very soon.”

The development has also seen Snowdon Homes complete it’s 1,000th home and to mark this milestone, the organisation donated £1,000 to Johnny’s Happy Place, a Community Interest Company which runs various schemes to support the community.

John Leydon, Managing Group Director of Snowdon Homes, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with Amplius to deliver much-needed affordable homes on the former Dunkelman and Son shoe factory site.

“This project not only revitalises a part of Desborough’s industrial heritage but also marks a major milestone for Snowdon Homes as we complete our 1,000th home.

“It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and partners, and we’re thrilled to see these new homes making a real difference for local families.”
